Make Sure to Use Sunblock
Sometimes even the most experienced and elite triathletes need to be reminded of the fundamentals and basic triathlon 101 rules. Apply sunblock at both transitions or at least apply it in T2. For most of us, we start the run between mid morning and early afternoon which is prime time for cooking under the sun. This is also the time when most athletes are under the most duress have swam and biked some ridiculous distance and now must run, jog or walk probably on hard asphalt and uphill for some absurd distance. There is no need to add a nasty sunburn to that recipe. Take an additional 15 seconds to run through the sunblock station if there is one or apply sunblock yourself. Remember, donít be this guy.
