RA Sushi Bar in Downtown SD

RA Sushi Bar in Downtown is a very modern Japanese American restaurant. The restaurant is very spacious so it’s great for a decent sized group. If you’re looking for a sushi restaurant that has a lot of room between you and another table, this is the place to go. The presentations were beautiful and looked really fresh. I was surprised to get real crab nigiri instead of imitation crab, which is actually a nice suprise since it really shows how they value fresh sushi. Their prices are reasonable but affordable nonetheless.

Sushi Deli in Downtown SD

I’ve been here many times over my stay in San Diego and it’s because of their great prices and amazing rolls. Most of the time you will see a long line during peak hours but the wait isn’t that long as they’re really fast paced. The sushi itself has quality that hits the spot and I often found myself ordering more than I could finish since it’s incredibly affordable. I 100% definitely recommend the Baja California roll when you go here. It’a really nice mix of Japanese and Mexican! This place is great to bring a few friends and family or a casual date.

Sapporo in Ocean Beach

Sapporo has affordable prices and is a great place to visit if you’re near the area. The salmon nigiri is really fresh and the cut is really thick. The ambience is very quiet inside compared to the busy street outside. I suggest getting hot green tea along with your sushi as you’ll have your own teapot and cups. I think Sapporo’s decor really fits the Japanese culture. It is a small restaurant so bringing along two to three friends is suggested. It looks like it can get really lively during the night time when the bar is open for customers. Overall, I think it’s a great place to have a relaxed meal.
